Gallery: Winter Wedding Photography

Winter wedding photography is a Colorado wedding photographer’s dream! The sunset hits earlier, the lights are naturally softer, and there’s less humidity to deal with. Plus we get to capture all the stunning seasonal details that only winter weddings have to offer! It’s true, winter weddings have a lot to offer—and winter wedding photography certainly ranks toward the top of my favorite images.

Allese and Daniel got a stunning gallery from their big day, complete with the perfect dusting of snow. Even their dogs got in on the action! The bride’s beautiful gown featured a delicate sleeve just lovely in it’s details, which also provided a little extra warmth during those gorgeous snowy shots. If you’re looking to create the winter wedding of your dreams, I have a few more tips and tricks for pulling it off… including some love for a good sleeve like these!

Maybe we’re too far into the season for a winter wedding this year, but you don’t need to give up on winter wedding photography. Actually, the more time you have to prepare for a winter wedding, the better! Considering things like weather contingencies and navigating holiday bookings with your venue and vendors can take time. But trust me, it’s absolutely worth it! Need some help getting started? I’ve got all the factors you’ll want to consider here.

Want the winter wedding photography without the big winter wedding? There are plenty of perfectly snowy places to elope in Colorado. A small celebration might be just the thing for the day of your dreams, without worrying about winter weather, canceled flights or road closures. Even without all the guests, your magical mountain images will last a lifetime!

I know, sometimes a winter wedding can seem daunting. Especially when you’re used to spring florals, sunny cocktails and summertime treats. But we all have our favorite traditions around the winter holidays, right? Imagine how fun it can be to incorporate those happy times into your wedding day! Trade the fruity iced beverages for a hot chocolate bar or some warm apple cider. Trade sunglasses and throw-away flip-flops for soft, flannel blankets to keep your guests snuggled up. Not feeling a winter wedding cake? Try custom sugar cookies or cozy s’mores instead.
