Autumn wedding photography is absolutely stunning. I know we typically think of summer as the traditional wedding season, but did you know it’s no longer the most popular season to tie the knot? It’s true! According to a study by TheKnot.com, nearly half of the 10,000 couples surveyed got married between September and November last year, solidifying fall as the new reigning peak of wedding season.

Kasey and Keegan planned a beautiful elopement in late September, timed perfectly with prime fall foliage in the mountains. Talk about gorgeous autumn wedding photography! What a joy it was to witness their love, first look, private vows and all of the stunning little details put in place for this day.

Fall weddings (and autumn wedding photography!) are certainly on the rise—with no signs of slowing down! According to recent data, 36% of couples got married between September and November in 2019, followed by 40% of couples in 2021 and 43% in 2022.

So why are fall weddings growing in popularity? Likely factors include more predictable weather, and more favorable temperatures that aren’t too hot or too cold. There’s also a lull between summer vacations and winter holidays that make fall an ideal time to tie the knot. Not to mention the beautiful foliage and colors of harvest that set the perfect tone for autumn wedding photography!

Ready to think flowers? Try finding arrangements that compliment the season’s naturally-occurring hues. (Dahlias, marigolds, and zinnias are all in full bloom!) Spice up your centerpieces with accents like pumpkins and gourds, or use fresh autumnal fruits like apples, pears and pomegranates. Those will all be in season (and readily available), too!
